Dr. Leticia Bode is a
Provost Distinguished Associate Professor at the Communication, Culture
and Technology graduate program in Georgetown University and she was the
faculty member who prompted toilets as a research topic for our
Fundamentals of Technology class (506). āHer research interests lie within
an intersection of communication, technology and political
behavior, emphasizing the role communication and information technologies
may play in the acquisition and use of political informationā (Georgetown
University, 2021).
She proposed this technology because of
two situations that were occurring at the time when Dr. Osborn asked the
professors to pick a topic- she was potty training her three years old
child, and she was having issues with a toilet in her house, which she
tried fixing. Both of these situations concurred curiosity in Dr. Bodeās
mind and led her to suggesting toilets as her technology to research. If
